Stovetop
1 cup rice to 2 cups water, bring to a boil after soaking, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Rest 5 minutes.
Biryani / pulao
Parboil 7 minutes in spiced water, drain, layer with meat or vegetables and steam covered for 20 minutes.
Rice cooker
Use a 1:2 ratio. Sella takes slightly more water than regular basmati; the cooker switches off automatically, leave on keep-warm for 5 more minutes.
