Cooking method: Rinse 1 cup of rice under running water and soak in lukewarm water for 30 minutes. Add the drained rice to 2.5 cups of water, salt and add a tablespoon of butter or oil. Bring to a boil and cook just until all the water is absorbed. Remove from the stove and let stand, covered, for 10-15 minutes.

Note: If the cooked rice is too hard, add more water the next time you cook it. If the rice is too soft, add less water.
