Stovetop
1 cup rice to 2.5 cups water. Bring to a boil, salt it, add a spoon of butter or oil, simmer until absorbed. If the rice ends up firm, add more water next time.
Resting
After cooking, leave covered for 10–15 minutes — grains finish steaming, moisture evens out and the rice fluffs beautifully.
