Authentic Lamb Keema Aloo – Simple, Spicy & Homemade

Lamb Minced Meat with Potatoes (Keema Aloo)

Ingredients

  • 500 g lamb minced meat

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 2–3 tbsp oil

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chili powder, to taste

  • ½ tsp coriander powder

  • A pinch of turmeric powder

  • ½ tbsp ginger paste

  • ½ tbsp garlic paste

  • 1 medium tomato, sliced or chopped

  • 1 fresh green chili, chopped

  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced


Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the chopped onion and fry until light golden brown.

  3. Add the minced lamb and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes, breaking up any lumps.

  4. Add salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric, ginger paste, and garlic paste. Mix well.

  5. Add the tomato and green chili, then cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is well cooked and aromatic.

  6. Add the diced potatoes and mix well.

  7. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 20–25 minutes, until the potatoes are soft and fully cooked.

  8. Stir once or twice during cooking to prevent sticking.

🍽️ Serve hot with roti, naan, or steamed basmati rice.
