Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between curry paste and curry powder?
Curry powder is a ground dry-spice blend. Curry paste is a pre-cooked base with spices, oil, onion and tomato – saves 30+ minutes. Use paste for quick curries, spices for custom recipes.
Is Patak’s mango chutney hot?
Classic Patak’s mango chutney is sweet and mildly spiced. Patak’s Hot Mango adds chilli for heat-lovers.
How long does opened chutney last?
Refrigerated, 4–6 weeks. Vinegar and sugar act as natural preservatives, but aroma fades after opening.
Are curry pastes vegetarian?
Most are – typically meat-free. Read labels carefully: some korma variants contain ghee and some tikka masala contains cream.
